Mid-Century Modern Kitchen/Bath Reno

This 1950's home renovation project involved a comprehensive reimagining of the kitchen and bathroom spaces.  The client preferred a mid-century modern aesthetic with a green-orange clashing color palate.  Keeping the locations of the kitchen and bathroom the same, we reconfigured their internal layouts to maximize space and functionality in each room.  The client's must-haves were:

In the Kitchen -

  • A larger work space overall with a practical layout, eliminating the breakfast room

  • Pantry storage

  • A large cooktop and oven

  • A full-size fridge, preferably a “side by side” style

  • Adequate storage for kitchen appliances and

  • Inclusion of an island bench or breakfast bar with stools for casual dining

In the Bathroom -

  • Full-size bathtub

  • Separate shower or a double shower if space allows

  • Double vanity with two sinks

  • Toilet (preferably in its own room with a washbasin, or within the bathroom with a privacy stall, but concealed from view of the adjoining dining room)
